There’s nothing more we love here at Wildhorse than adoptions!
Our very own Wildhorse Volunteer Alexys has adopted Sonora!
We rescued this sweet Mustang Mare at auction in June of 2018 with her filly, Mohave, alongside her and a foal on the way (Cimarron) who was born in March of 2019. Both, previously adopted.
We asked Alexys what it was about Sonora that captured her heart and she told us, “When Sonora came to the ranch, she was just the prettiest horse I had ever seen, but she was very shy and not too interested in socializing with the volunteers. As time went on, she learned to trust us and her sweet and spunky personality began to shine through all that uncertainty, it was then that I knew I wanted to adopt her.”
Alexys, an avid rider for over 10 years, has always wanted a horse to call her own. We’re so happy we could help make that a reality for her.
You can find these two at any given time on the ranch strengthening their bond by playing Natural Horsemanship games and spending lots of time together. We couldn’t have wished for a better match!
