Who We Are

Two Babies and "Fancy Milk"
We hope you read our recent FB and IG posts about Fancy,
a horse whose baby, Shooter, was premature.
Fancy and Shooter were at Arizona Equine where Baby Theo was.
Here is an update. Two Babies and "Fancy Milk."

Baby Maverick is home from the hospital

Baby Maverick is home from the hospital
His 2nd surgery went very well. He has a long metal rod in his leg for stability. It will not impact his growth at all. He'll be on stall rest for 3 months. That is why we have lots of toys and cushy bedding for him. His cast will come off in about 2 to 3 weeks. He's on antibiotics and medicine for pain management.

Maverick was a wild baby horse we rescued because he was injured. It appeared that he may have experienced a rattlesnake bite. He had some infection in his fetlock area that was serious. His 1st surgery was to remove 1 compromised sesamoid bone and use antibiotics to clear his infection. His 2nd surgery was to stabilize his leg so that he can live a long and healthy life.

If you would like to help with his surgery expenses, buy him some toys, or help with cushy stall shavings, we would be so appreciative. Every dollar helps us get closer to paying off the bill of $6,641 for his 2nd surgery.

We have rescued 6 wild baby horses since June 4, 2024
We need your help with donations to help these babies and their veterinary care, as well as Milk replacement, and love!

Baby Summer - She had an injured hoof and could not keep up with her wild herd. Summer is healthy now and has been adopted!  Baby Buck - Endured severe heat stroke and dehydration. Buck is healthy now and has been adopted! Baby Ace was attacked by wild dogs when he was 2 days old. He endured serious wounds and is now doing well. He is at our Foster Facility, the Hill's Ranch in Flagstaff, AZ. The Hills have renamed him
Pistol Pete to match his personality.
Baby Maverick appear to have a serious snake bite wound on his front left leg. He spent time in the hospital as he needed surgery and was on IV antibiotics. He is at our ranch in Gilbert and will need to go back to Arizona Equine Surgical Centre in Gilbert, AZ around mid August to have a second surgery to stabilize his leg. Baby Ivy was abandoned by her herd because she was sick. Baby Ivy is at our WHQ (Wildhorse Headquarters) facility in Gilbert, AZ and has a surrogate Momma with Carinna, our registered Arabian. Baby Huckleberry was found alone, without his wild herd. He was dehydrated and limping. He was at Aspen Veterinary Hospital in Flagstaff, AZ but was able to go home after several days. He is at The Hill's Ranch in Flagstaff, AZ with Baby Ace who is now
called Pistol Pete.
